They were all home. They were all safe. This was how it was supposed to be.

Amen.

I think the tweaks you made to this made it much stronger a piece. Nicely done!

Great! I wonder what I did?
I suspect that I could rewrite a story forever and still find things to fix...

You did this very well, from Jack's detachment during the memorial, to his confusion trying to sort out his memories, to his inability to discuss Daniel's 'death' afterwards. This was a nice look into Jack's head during this episode.

Thank you! I think that Jack trys to think about, and discuss, 'things' as little as possible. Especially if it endangers his self control....

Oh, what a lovely look at what was going on in Jack's head!

I especially liked this:

He’d died again on the Nox world, but Jack had died first that time, so he didn’t have to know. It wasn’t supposed to happen again. It was never supposed to happen again.

That is so Jack - Daniel died on him once in Abydos, and never again... yet that's what happened (or what he thought did). Yes.

Lovely work, Betty. Thanks for your enthusiasm for Gen Fic Day. :)

It's a nice look at the detachment attachment that Jack maintains. (I know what I mean by that even if it doesn't make sense to anyone else. *g*)

It also makes sense that, because of his special forces training, Jack would be the first to catch the thread that there were some mind tricks going on. I don't know if you were intending to convey that or not, but I was reading that into it too.

Thanks! Jack doesn't act like a deep thinker, but he's analytical. He knows when the pieces aren't fitting together. I suspect that Carter and Teal'c were having their own struggles with the false memories. As to what they thought about it, I didn't think about that, since I was focused on Jack.
