Alternates: Round 3 // Challenge 4

Okay, I was able to post these sooner than I thought. Some of them might not look different from others, and that's because they're only *slightly* different lol. I'm never happy, I guess ;)

I gotta say, I loved the one you submitted. The colours are so wonderfully vibrant, fanciful and different. Actually it kind of makes me think of the kind of dreams you have under anathestic. Really vivid, but still dream-like.

So, I definitely prefer the coloured ones to the b&w. The b&w's are nice, and I like the contrast, but I think Vala gets more lost in them, with such a busy background. The coloured ones still really focus on her.

I like the use of the red colouring to balance the sides. I think that works better than the use of another light texture. It gives the icon real depth, without distracting from the background and the subject.

I definately wouldn't have gone with one of the daker alternates (like your first alternate). But looking at them now, I kind of love #13 and #10, because they are even more colourful and contrasted >.< Vala is so clear in them...

So that's how opinions differ LOL

I like your b/w icons better than the coloured ones because Vala gets lost in the coloured ones. The one you submitted has nice vibrant colours and great contrast in the background while Vala is kind of dull (everything that should be black looks only grey-ish). A little less vibrant like #5 works better for me.

My favourites are 11 and 12 though because the light textures de-busy (No word, I know!) the icon :)

Ooh, I really love the coloring in the Cam icon! The yellow is so rich, and kind of balances that icon, which was too green and red for my tastes =) I like the crop too =) Just enough Cam, just enough cavern wall ^__^

Oh man... I loved the text on the icon you submitted when I first saw it ^__^ but now I'm kinda in love with your alternates! I love the Vala one especially ^__^ the b&w makes it really striking, and the text is funny and perfectly placed. I also love the d/v one, because it's one of those "love in sci-fi shows is occasionally a bit weird and involves weapons" kind of juxtapositions ^__^ very cute.

Oh, I love all of these! Although, I prefer the one you submitted over the first one. The other two alternatives are fantastic. I think I have to snage the Vala one. :D
