Here's the roundup for the second SG-1 Gen Fic Day!
Fic:
Girls (and Jaffa) Do Not Fight Fair, by
kalquessa. She calls it crackfic, but I call it delightfully in character and hilariously funny! S8 SG-1 comes through the Gate and reports on their misadventures. Walter calls Jack on nostalgia. PG.
abyssinia4077 gives us two great ficlets for the price of one:
Journey of a Thousand Years and A Still, Small Voice. The first is a marvelous character study - a discussion between Sam and Bra'tac, sometime in the future. (And Abyssis, you should post a link on
sg1_ever_after!) The second is that rarest of gems: a good quality Sara fic, in which she meets SG-1 and discovers that even when the Air Force is planning a memorial, the team never, ever leaves anyone behind. Both are G.
My contribution is
No Place Like Home. Sam, Daniel, and Jacob/Selmac in Tangent, on the way to rescue Jack and Teal'c. Rated G.
beanpot chimes in with
Come ride a train, choo choo train. Vala and Jonas together in fic! Absolutely, positively for the win! This fantastic ficlet fixes one of the most infuriating plot holes of S10. PG.
Commentfic:
Mourning, by
ryf. A beautiful, intelligent Sam and Janet friendship fic, set right after ITLOD.
Untitled Fallen snippet, by
redbyrd_sgfic. Daniel's first day on Vis Uban, complete with sensory shock, language skills, and an explanation of why Daniel agreed to be called Arrom!
WIP:
eve11 posted a generous snippet of what looks like will be a fantastic classic team adventure, complete with competent SG-1 and explosions!
Forced Perspective, part 1 of hopefully lots. :)
Recs:
ryf recommended three excellent gen fics:
Last stop: This town by
triciabyrne1978.
Post Heroes - Cassandra finds silence with Teal'c.
More Trouble Than a texas twister by
dknightshade.
The SG1 team in quarantine. For a month.
Of Belonging to Another by
pellucid.
A faint ache remains, like a memory of an old wound. Sam, Vala and Sarah.
We also ended up with a gen SGA snippet:
Conversations, a Teyla and Elizabeth friendship ficlet.
Thank you to all those who participated and helped make SG-1 Gen Fic Day a success! I'm already looking forward to the next one... :)
