Hello, my name is Aurora. I'll be moving to SF from Miami the first week or so of October. I'll be driving this long distance with my boyfriend and my cat. Well, I tried to direct you to Reddit but it got marked as spam so I don't know if it showed up or not. Get on Reddit and check out the bayarea and sanfrancisco groups. There will be lots of good info for you there!

Daly City sounds like a possibility for you with your budget. On CL, check Daly City, San Bruno, Millbrae, SF, Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley. Stay away from Pacifica (unless you really want to live on the coast and don't mind a bit of a drive), Burlingame, Hillsborough, (very expensive) and anything south of there. You'll likely be sharing or finding a junior 1 BR, but things often open up. Good luck! The Silver Ave. area of SF is often overlooked and kind of a fun, funky neighborhood south of Bernal Heights.

I'd recommend you guys get a 1br near Lake Merritt in Oakland - totally doable w/your budget, close to BART, great neighborhood.
