OH. I was going to leave a lengthy comment about angsty Nate but first I have to say that OMG Ray is back and wow, I knew he would be in the bar and I have to admit I was secretly afraid you would write off all of Nate's turmoil to get to the sex - not that I don't want the sex, of course I do, but the fact that you let Nate have such a visceral and unpleasant reaction is much more... convincing, maybe?. I hate it when writers sacrifice a character's integrity (not integrity in the moral sense but as in the persona as you have written it) to get to the "good stuff" but you have the kind of handle on your own characters where you know it wouldn't be right for Nate to just automatically swoon and run off with Ray
