It's not live-action, but Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust are both good movies.

thanks mate. tres helpfull, and i did find Tale of a Vampire on IMDB and it looked quite good but i cant find it on sale anywhere :( oh well. youv'e given me enough to be gettin on with :) ciao

How about the Lost Boys or the Monster Squad both are pretty good movies.
