5927 fanfiction

Mar 30, 2008 16:18

Alright, so I joined a bunch of communities and junk, but I never post anything here! So this time I'm posting a fanfiction that I wrote for the GokuTsuna;5927 community! <3 I'll probably be putting up a bunch of stuff that I've already written on my Ff.net account here, too.

Title: Stuck Between a Loser and a Chunk of Dynamite that's Bigger than my Head.
Author: SexyTiempo
Anime/manga: Kattekyo Hitman Reborn!
Pairing:5927 GokuTsuna
Rating: T
Summary:
Yamamoto talks to you about his troubles with Tsuna and Gokudera. 5927 fluff at the end! =D

"It's like there's some invisible war of emotions going on and I'm stuck in the middle of it... I swear, today, during the assembly, I'm just going to let Sawada sit in between Gokudera and me (assigned seating be damned!) just so I don't have deal with Sawada stealing glances over my shoulder at Gokudera and Gokudera glaring daggers at my head because he thinks Sawada is stealing glances at me."

A/N: by the way, when there's a "..." that's you saying something to Yamamoto!
START

Hey! What's up? You new here?

“...”

Yeah, I thought so. I could tell by the look on your face that says “What the hell am I doing here?”

“...”

Oh, right, I should probably introduce myself. Yamamoto Takeshi's the name, baseball's the game! Nice to meet you! Nice handshake, by the way, you've got a strong grip. Hey, have you thought about signing up for baseball? Or softball, I guess, since they don't normally let girls join the baseball team.

“...!”

Hahaha, whoa there, I didn't mean to offend you or anything, sorry!

Holy Hat, here they come! Get down! Quick! Behind this bush!

“...?”

Sh!!

...Hold on, I think they're gone... Phew! That was a close one! Sorry, you didn't get your skirt dirty, did you?

“...”

That's good. Sorry about that, it's just that I'd rather not be around those two right now.

“...?”

Them? Well, the shorter one with the spiky brown hair is Sawada. He's my best friend. Did you know he saved my life once? It's a long story, but basically I was going through a rough time, and then I broke my arm. I thought nothing was left for me, ya know? You can't play baseball with a broken arm! I was getting ready to throw myself off the top of the school building. And Sawada? He talked me out of my funk, made me want to live again. If that isn't friendship I don't know what is.

Then there's Gokudera. He was the taller dude with the white hair, remember? Had a scowl on his face? Yeah, the one who looked like he was about to kill the person closest to Sawada.

Yeah, now you know why I avoid them at all costs.

Wait, before I go on... you aren't homophobic are you? No? Great. Okay, now you have to swear to me, on pain of death! That you will not repeat anything I'm about to tell you.

I know we've just met and all, but I need to talk to someone about it, and everyone else I know just wouldn't understand.

See, I like hanging out with Sawada and Gokudera, they're hilarious and are always up to something crazy, but lately things have been... well, not weird, but awkward.

I have this feeling that Gokudera likes Sawada.

And not just in a “hey let's be friends and hang out on weekends to play video games” kind of way, but in a “let's hold hands when no one is looking” kind of way.

And... I think Sawada might feel the same way.

And that's basically where the problem lies.

See, they're in that phase of a relationship where neither of them are willing to grow a pair and confess their feelings. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, almost everyone's gone through that at one point or another, and if you haven't yet? Well, you're one lucky son of a monkey's uncle.

I mean, it's bad enough that they're both in denial, but they're both REALLY obvious about it. I can't even talk to Sawada without feeling like Gokudera's about to set my hair on fire with his cigarette. I know, he's a smoker, I think it's gross too. If he hooks up with Sawada I'm going to have to force him to stop.

"..."

No, I'm not jealous and no, I don't like Sawada like that.

It's just that I feel like there's some invisible war of emotions going on and I'm stuck in the middle, with furtive glances and longing stares ricocheting overhead and jealousy exploding nearby every time I open my mouth to say something.

I can't take it anymore!

I swear, today, during the assembly, I'm just going to let Sawada sit in between Gokudera and me (assigned seating be damned!) just so I don't have deal with Sawada stealing glances over my shoulder at Gokudera and Gokudera glaring daggers at my head because he thinks Sawada is stealing glances at ME.

“...”

Lock them in a closet together? No, we don't have a lot of closets here at school. And even if we did, I wouldn't want to chance them getting caught. It's not like we have a whole lot of gays here. Not that I like using the term 'gays.' People are people, some just can't have kids together. The last thing I need is for Sawada and Gokudera's relationship to get squashed before it can even happen just because SOME people aren't as open-minded as I am.

“...”

Yeah, come to think of it, we do spend a lot of time over at Sawada's house. I could just lock them in Sawada's room and take everyone else out to dinner at my dad's restaurant!

“...”

Wow. I'm not sure whether to be creeped out or impressed, you're unusually good at coming up with ideas. Say, would you like to help? I can introduce you to our little motley group.

And so it came to be that Hayato and Tsuna found themselves locked in Tsuna's bedroom. Though it could hardly be recognized as such. For one, it was completely spotless. Second of all, Tsuna's bed had been moved to a corner of the room where it lay mournfully unnoticed by the boys. And thirdly, different colored paper lanterns, the only light source, were strung across the ceiling, illuminating the small round table in the middle of the room with their multicolored glow.

A small candle on the table threw its light across crystal glasses that in turn refracted the light across the cream tablecloth and Tsuna's Mother's good china.

Hayato glanced at Tsuna with trepidation, barely containing the hope shining in his eyes. “W-what's this?”

Tsuna shook his head mutely, the light from a rose-colored lantern played across his face, “I don't know.”

“Dinner.” said Reborn, looking professional in a waiter's clothing and bearing a plate of food that wafted delicious smells, which promised Bianchi had not been anywhere close when it had been made. “Enjoy.” the hitman was deaf to any of Hayato's or Tsuna's questions and disappeared as suddenly as he had appeared.

The house was deathly silent. Hayato shuffled in place, unsure of what to do. After a minute of silent fighting with himself he finally said, “Do-do you want to sit down?”

“S-sure.” Tsuna replied. His ears burned when Gokudera pulled out the chair for him, but he sat anyway. There was another moment of silence as awkwardness filled the room. A loud POP! Made them both jump a foot in the air as Reborn poured sparkling water into their glasses and left.

“As long as I live, I will never get used to that.” Tsuna put a hand to his racing heart.

“Definitely,” Hayato hurried to agree.

“So,” Tsuna fished for a way to start a conversation before the awkwardness had a chance to creep back into the room, “you're from Italy, right? What was it like there? Do you ever get homesick?”

Hayato's mouth deepened, “Not really.” he said. Tsuna deflated and Hayato scrambled to salvage the conversation, “B-but then again I didn't like my family a lot. My parents weren't around much and my sister... ” Hayato shuddered and glimpsed a flicker of pity in Tsuna's eyes that he disliked.

“But Italy was beautiful,” he changed the subject to something less personal, “I used to go down to the coast during the summer with Sanji, our head cook, and one time...”

So Gokudera told Tsuna of his childhood and Tsuna watched as Hayato's eyes reflected the ocean on the coast of Italy as he stared backwards into time. In return, Tsuna rewarded Gokudera with glimpses into the deeper parts of his soul that made Tsunayoshi Tsuna.

And without meaning to, the boys let down the carefully constructed barriers that they had erected to keep themselves from each other.

FINISH

I hope you guys like this, I wrote it in record time, so there might be some mistakes and awkward sentences and crap, but if you remember, could you tell me so I can fix them? That would be cool. Anyway, feedback is appreciated!!
