I went to the clinic today to try to get an IUD for the 2nd time in as many weeks, and for the second time it failed because I'm too small or whatever. So I waited in the waiting room for 3 hours to be in pain and be told I could try again if I wanted local anesthesia and blah blah blah

Ugh, that's a terrible situation. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Doesn't sound like any of the options are so great :( I hope you can find a good compromise!
