Up until this past January, it had been over 1.5 years since I opened Photoshop. I tried to enter the inaugural round at
20muses, but I just got so frustrated making icons that I had to stop. Plus, grad school really began kicking my ass, which didn't help matters at all. But now, I'm halfway through my winter quarter and miserable as fuck, so iconmaking

So these are AWESOME, kudos on making such great icons after such a long break! Your eye for composition has always been on point, imo. My faves are 5, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 18!

The compositions in these are rad! You do blocking so well.
Love the vintage coloring in 4, 5 and 18. But my favorite of the bunch is is vibrant. The colors are gorgeous!

Good at blocking? Really?! I've never felt especially skillful with blocking no matter how much I've tried to do it, so thanks for the encouragement, my dear! The vintage coloring is all due to some brown layer technique that I got from a lovely tut. I wish I remembered who (rebel maybe?), but I pretty much used that on every single icon here for one reason or another, and it's really helped with trying to mute colors a bit. I'm so glad you liked "vibrant" cuz it's one of the only non-monochromatic icons in the set!!! Thank you for your lovely feedback, Ida! <3

I love this movie and your icons are lovely!
the close crop and text in #16 is fantastic. Futhermore, I really like the palette pink in M icon( the contrast and vibrance).
My favourite is #19, vesper in green and text is so stunning.
I also want to say that i like the color of 13 alt and I believe the composition of 14 alt is so original.
Good job ^^

I'm really excited about how 16 came out so it's brilliant to hear that you like it! I didn't know if that M icon might just be too difficult for anyone to even see since her face is all covered up, so it's wonderful that it stood out to you! 19 is the one piece I kept going back and forth on. I didn't know whether or not to include it, but I really wanted to finish on time so I just left it in. So thrilled that you enjoy it, as well as 13, which was fun to color! Alt 14 is kinda hard to see, which is why I re-worked the composition, but I do love how it originally came out. I feel like most people don't tend to look at alts, so the fact that one of mine caught your eye is so wonderful! THANK YOU for your amazing feedback! <3

The vivid red and that text works well in 'Lana Del Rey - Dark Paradise'. I'm digging the blue background text for 'such,' it gives it a retro feeling. Great combo of B&W and red (my favorite color combo) in 'Sia - Alive', and the texture use gives it this really interesting, mysterious vibe. Beautiful vibrant coloring in, well, 'vibrant'. There are so many colors packed into that icon, it's like a little rainbow.

Yes! I was hoping to just make something pop amongst the sea of red, so I'm glad that bit of text caught your eye! I was suuuper happy with that Sia-inspired icon. It's the piece that set me on a really good run of icons one day, and it's amazing to know you appreciate it! I'm shocked that "vibrant" seems to be jumping out at so many people. There's always that confusing, yet happy, surprise everytime I post stuff and people gravitate toward something I thought would go unnoticed. Thank you SO VERY MUCH for all the feedback, my dear. It's so motivating and encouraging! <3

I never thought the day would come when my text work would stand out to anyone so all the feedback here has been incredibly lovely and amazing, including yours! I wanted to smash things making "chemistry + quote," but it was worth it in the end since I love how that icon came out and since you enjoyed it as well. Thank you so much for the concrit about Alt 13 vs. the entry! If the simpler alt were inspired by anything, I could have used it, but I had to create something based on one of the provided icons, and burntheflaws' piece was so striking. Mine doesn't come anywhere close to hers.

So great that you're still dabbling in our shared hobby when you can. It's a wonderful escape from real life when you can find the time to do it, right? Thanks for the virtual hugs. I seriously need it for the next few weeks. Or months. :/
