I know it's been a few months since I've posted, but laziness tends to trump everything else where I'm concerned. As always, please find it in your lovely hearts to forgive me! Now, I'd planned to present a multi-fandom entry for my return, but halfway through making my second and latest
20inspirations entry batch, I realized my alternate/variation-loving ass

I don't even fully understand how icons like 14 are even possible. Whenever I try to work with red, it's always too dark. And then trying to up the brightness on it will either completely change the color I was trying for, or just look like a too-bright pile of crap.
And don't let anyone make you feel bad about using text textures. I mean, who cares? If it works, it works. And I think they look great.

I'll say it until I die, but I don't see anything extremely interesting about my texture usage. That's not to say that I don't try my hardest to make it look interesting, but I don't feel I come up with crazy compositions with them, like so many other makers do. It's fantastic to know you like that aspect of my work though cuz that's my fave part about the iconizing process!
#14 was nothing difficult. I always color the image first, and if I don't like what I come up with (that's often the case), I use a B/W gradient map and either set a texture on Linear Burn over it or add a Color Fill layer using the Linear Burn mode.
I have no problem with text textures, but I wanted to admit that they're always present in my work, so I don't get praised for something I didn't do all by myself, ya know?
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT FANTASTIC FEEDBACK AND SUPPORT, NIK! <3

Now on to teh srsn bsns! THE ICONS!♥
I love these Kim. The blocking in 3 is really good, I love 10-the use of colour & texture is fab, I realy adore the overall feel of 11-it really draws me in, and the texture use on 6,14, & 17 is really nicely done, and then there is 20 which is really nicely put together too!

It's funny, but the more I look at #3, the more bored with it I get. I liked it quite a bit last week, but now I'm over it. Why does that always happen to me whenever I post my icons? Oh well, I'm glad you like the blocks cuz I think I suck ass at that. Same for #20 cuz I was scared it would look too busy.
I could not think of what the eff to do with #10, but eventually, I found an appropriate texture! Phew!
Subtly isn't always my strong suit, so I really appreciate hearing that you like #6, 14, and 17, which all involve something quieter and not so weird and dramatic.
#11 involved me coloring piling on textures until I finally got the blue tone that I wanted. It really shouldn't have taken long to make that...but it did.
THANK YOU FOR THAT BRILLIANT FEEDBACK, JESS! IT'S MOTIVATING AND ENCOURAGING! <3
