My cellphone number used to belong to a woman named Stacy. And apparently, LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE STACY'S NUMBER. That is, her OLD number. MY number. At least once a week, I get a call asking for Stacy. Before we switched phone companies, we would constantly get calls for the guy who had our number before us. Even though it had been almost five years since he had that number! We eventually changed our voicemail message to something like, 'Hi, this is Mike and Lee-Anne, blah blah blah. If you are NOT calling for Mike and Lee-Anne, please hang up now." When that didn't work, we said, "If you are calling for Ross James, or anyone with the last name James, you have the wrong number. To leave a message for M&L, wait for the beep!" or something to that effect.

For a while there, it got to the point where we had more calls for this Ross James guy that ourselves! Most annoying.
