here's the thing. (not that my opinion is detrimental considering we're not really that close, or even talk at all, hah, but I'll still give you my opinon).

I think joining the military for anyone is a good idea, I'm all for the supporting of the country and doing that, I come from a long line of military service in my family, so I have great respect for anyone that does it.

However, you may want to consider waiting until after college to go in. Just because with a college degree, you're going to go in with a higher position than someone out of high school which could make it a little less like hell.

But all-in-all its only your decision

if you want to go into the military. marines is the way man. my dad was a master sargent recruiter and my brother was a sargent before he got out. they will treat you very very good. fine choice my friend. if all else fails for me. i'm goin' in. haha.
