Dr. Jane Violet Mieller has just moved from New York to Vegas and after gaining quite a reputation back at the "Big Apple" it wasn't that hard to find a job. Especially when there's a good friend, who recomends you ( ... )

"New psychologist? I wasn't aware we were hiring one." Grissom blinked a couple times, trying to clear the haze and recall the last staff meeting with Ecklie. He didn't recall him mentioning anything about a psychologist, or any new hires for that matter. Maybe this could be a good thing, with Warrick absent, if she was qualified, maybe she could fill his shoes.

"Tell me a little bit about yourself. Prior experiences, field training, future goals. I know you must have already had an official interview, and they hired you. But they put you on my shift, so that means I need a good overall impression of why they hired you, and what your talents are." Grissom usually did his own hiring, but lately he hadn't had the time to interview anyone. If Cavallo and Ecklie seemed to think they were short handed, they may very well have pulled rank.

Jane chuckled. "You know, you must be unaware, because I was contracted by that odd guy... Now what was his name? Oh, yes, Ecklie. As soon as he contracted me he must have forgotten he did." She giggled, trying not to show the first impression she got from Ecklie ( ... )

Grissom had none of her paperwork in front of him, and would probably have to hound Ecklie for it later. It was typical of him to throw this kind of curve ball at Grissom. Hire someone, and then put them on Grissom's shift and watch the fun. Grissom hired his own people for a reason. The last hiring that was done by Ecklie had given him David Hodges, who would sooner take his info directly to Conrad than to his supervisor Grissom.

"Conrad likes to make my life difficult. So for the sake of argument, he's probably stashed them someplace I can't get at them. Your Bachelors is in Physics. What is your doctorate in?" Grissom was confused, He'd never run across a CSI who was a Physicist and a Psychologist. "Is it an M.D. or Ph.D?" Something in his mind told him that she wasn't on the level, that this was an elaborate hoax perpetrated by Conrad in the effort to ruffle Grissom's feathers. Why else would he have put her on his shift, instead of keeping her for himself?
