i've noticed some "friends only" personal journals to have a notice on their entries page dated way into the future... while you shouldn't have to be making any extra effort to thwart these people from clicking the join button, maybe changing the date on this entry to some future year so it stays as the first post even when public posts are made might pop out to some of those ... selective readers.
