entirely wishful thinking

I'm a very suggestible costumer - remember I wanted orange spotted pjs after seeing Coraline, even though orange makes me look like liver failure happened long ago.

I've been drooling over riding/travelling habits from the 18th century thanks to faerie_mistress .  I'm enabler over fabric (always buy more!) & she taunts me with pretties that I want even knowing ( Read more... )

Stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff *dances*

We really are terrible for each other aren't we? Hehe.

I know Cath's Bastille Day party is this weekend (I won't be able to make it, boooo), but do you want to come over for a sewing and movie day if you're up to it?

I'm not sure I can make it to Cathy's party either :hisss: stoopid stoopid lungs.

I'd love to come over in daytime but I'll need to be heading home by dark (refer to stoopid lungs). Saturday morning my cleaner's coming over, but that arvo & all Sunday are free to a good home.

Either day is fine with me, just let me know which works best for you. I'll even attempt to remind you to leave on time for once...

Don't worry, I think my lungs will be reminding me - once I'm recovered from lung-stupid it takes a good week of getting home asap after dusk for the dumb things to come right. Tonight I need to find my asthma preventer script.

Oh so PURDY! Darn you and your awesome posting of pretties! I'm SO doing full 18thC next year (starting with undergarments of course!).

Actually I think I've decided to do a new evening bustle gown for the ACG ball this year. I've got the bustle (just need to make the frilled part for the back), I've got heaps of fabric put aside for various Victorian/18thC gowns, but most importantly, I'm inspired! :P Technically I need a new corset, but I'm thinking I might just wear my SS1 one and wait til I've lost a little more weight before I make a new Victorian one. I'll have to search through my stash but at the moment I'm thinking of the pretty pastel pink embroidered poly taffeta (approx 10m I think) I have in my stash... with mint green petticoats and trims... YUM!

heh heh, I'm sharing the love of pretties :)

Oooh your bustle gown sounds delectable. I still haven't decided what I'm making for the ball in August, though I do know that I am going to make a new corset anyway. I'll make the back gap wider so that I can lose some weight & still wear it.

Sharing is caring ;)

I hope so! Though I'll have to double check my stash first. And I think I need an evening bodice too... But yes, should be delicious! I was originally going to make Snow White, but I don't want to be seen as copying (Sam's last year) and I want to lose weight first, so I'll do it for Armageddon instead. Not that I'm hinting or anything, but Historical is fun :D :D :P

Oooh that's a good idea! I wish I could do that for mine but my problem is that I don't have much to lose from my bust/hips (well ok my bust, but not my chest/ribcage if that makes sense) but I plan to make a huge change in my waistline. So a larger gap isn't really going to help, I'd need to nip in the waist more, leaving the top and bottom un touched. I learnt that last year with my other corset :P Was painful!

HISTORICAL!! :P
