okely doke, I made the item of padding and it was funny - as in it didn't look right. Will take a photo when i can do it without reeling in horror or laughter

I finished the dress and the sleeves worked! Now I just have to put the whole lot on for a photo shoot.
I went out and measured Jay this morning. He put up with it fairly well, but didn't like me taking the measurement between his eyes for the face guard bit because he couldn't see what I was doing. I'm designing a pattern to work from now.
My saddler friend has started to make a quiver for my arrows. It is red leather, and will have a sheepskin liner so they don't rattle around. It will look great with the outfit. I have to go there on Thursday to finish it off. He's only doing the hard bits for me.
I'm so impressed that you've got it all finished and are ready for a photo shoot. Will you get a photo on the day - so that we can see Jay too?
Love the quiver, and in red too. It'll really add to the costume. Don't think Jay would like rattly arrows too much. Though as you know, what I know about horses would fit on the back of a stamp.
Actually, the not-having-the-arrows-rattle-around bit is so that you can sneak up on stuff to shoot it without it hearing you coming. You see, it's not just a costume quiver, but a real functional one that could be used for hunting with properly tipped arrows... even though I don't intend on hunting or getting anything other than target arrows. However, you're right, the fewer unfamiliar noises around a horse, the better.
I'm forcing my friend to come and act as photographer for the day, but I want to get some photos before hand, because it will be really hot on Sunday and I will be all red in the face which sort of wrecks the illusion, also I may have to wear a riding helmet for insurance reasons, which will look very stupid and out of place.
a real working quiver ... I'm dead impressed. err, hadn't thought of the red-faced from hard work, and yes a lovely modern helmet will stand out. Can't wait to see the pics of you and Jay
