Why thank you, my dear!

How do you like it so far? Is it a display form or a dressmaking form? Where did you get it? ♡✧( ु•⌄• )

It's very useful for holding onto garment pieces (I don't like them laying around), sewing details on and taking pictures. I got mine from Jet.com, I would recommend getting one.

Waistbands oh no!! maemerrily September 10 2016, 14:43:09 UTC
I always mess up my waistbands the first time around too!! I always do half-elastic waistbands for skirts in lolita.
Luckily I found this half-elastic waistband tutorial on egl, so I hope this helps you with waistbands too.

Ah, yes! That tutorial I found very useful! Thank you for sharing the link.

Do you opt for a zipper in your HEW (Half-Elastic Waistband) skirts? I'm considering it, but I'm not sure if it is truly necessary.

Glad it helped!

I generally don't put in a zipper. Though I do make sure that I can put the skirt on over my hips before completing the casing of the waistband! And I do the maths before cutting fabric as well. Thin waist, big butt problems haha.

Preach, my sister!

Proportion differences make for great sewing challenges!
