Blouse alterations (Opinions please!)

So ages ago I found a loli-able blouse at some thrift store or another.  Only problem was that it was sized extra large, and I am sized significantly smaller.  Anyways, I finally got around to taking it in at the sides (which worked out marvelously) and now I'm left with the sleeves.

That's a really pretty blouse to have found at a thrift store! *wishes my thrift stores had Loli-able things like that*

I think that shortening the sleeves and using only part of the cuffs would be best, as the entire cuff might be a bit constricting for movement and a rather too tight for it to be comfortable.
For making the sleeves less wide, perhaps you could put on the blouse inside-out and place safety pins roughly to where you want to adjust the width, slide it off, and follow the pins on the sewing machine?

(It's hard to find good things at thrift stores, especially lolita stuff. I just got lucky.)

The cuff is actually pretty loose, even on my upper arm (because I'm skinny and weak). I was more concerned about the cuff making the sleeves an awkward length.
For the width of the rest of the sleeve, I'm not concerned because I'm shortening it so much, and I figured on gathering it a bit where I attached the cuff to give the sleeve some poof. Thanks for the idea though!

I'd vote shortening the sleeves and using part of the cuff; it is a nice cuff and it'd save you from making a different cuff.

I'm certainly hoping using the cuff will make it easier! Thanks!

I'd probably just shorten the sleeve and use the whole cuff. You might have trouble having to deal with the buttonholes in the seams, and a big cuff won't look so weird on a short sleeve anyway.

(Eugh, buttonholes...)
Yeah, using the whole cuff would be a lot easier, but the cuff is like 4 or 5 inches long. I think I'll go ahead and cut the sleeves and then try pinning the cuffs different ways before I decide. Thanks though!

That's the best thing to do, try it out a few different ways before doing anything permanent!
