I haven't done any ruffle pleating yet, myself. So far I've just been doing the old "divide pleats into equal sections and gather them individually" thing, only I've been dividing into eighths instead of fourths lately. I'm way happier with the results doing it in eighths, and as a bonus, apparently it somehow makes me feel like I'm doing less gathering if I do it in a bunch of tiny chunks.
I also didn't realize the underskirts would contribute to cupcakeyness! Must ... get ... flannel ... ;)
That sounds perfect! I have a ton of other stuff to keep me busy between now and then, so I'm sure I can wait. It'll be a good chance to clear some space in my fabric stash, right? ;)
Thanks for the heads up! I've been on a fabric diet for so long that I no longer remember when anything specific goes on sale...
Oh man I wish I lived someplace cooler. A fleece underskirt sounds so cozy! Lovely skirt btw! And I do the same as pirateonthebay.. just divide the ruffle into equal sections.. takes a while but it works. I also bought a ruffler foot, can't wait to try that out and see if that's faster. Though I heard you can use a serger to make ruffles too! :)
