Hello all!!
I guess for now I'll just be doing random sewing projects due to my local Renaissance faire starting and all of time is being dedicated to events for the local cast(which I am a part of)
I had an urge to sew something unrelated to Elizabethan fashion last night at about 12am, so I dug through my fabric and I discovered about 2 yards of leftover fabric from a JSK I'd made last year. I love the fabric and I found enough lining material, so I said, "Welp, I guess I know what I'm making."

So I churned out this.

(Just the skirt. Not all the other do-dads)

I knew I wanted some sort of lace with this skirt, but I didn't know what I had in my magical drawers, and I couldn't just run out to my local craft store and by yards of lace at 1am, so I dug. And I found 3 yards of scalloped lace that I had dyed brown earlier this year to only find out that the brown didn't match what I needed it to. I had about 15" left of the fabric after the skirt and waistband pieces were cut out so I split it into 4 strips and made ruffles.

Ruffle Hem with Lace.

I followed this tutorial:  http://sew-loli.livejournal.com/967045.html for the waistband. It freaked me out at first, but it was really simple and easy to follow!! I didn't put in a zipper, because frankly, I hate zippers. The waistband came out a bit big, but I can easily go back and take it in.

I used wide elastic in two channels.

This was the first time I had ever sewn with polyester lining. I typically use cotton, but I had this stuff lying around. It was difficult at all, it just gathered a bit going through my serger. I serged all the seams and hems.

Thanks for looking!
