I really can't remember if I've ever actually posted in this community before, if I have it was a really long time ago. So silly of me! Hopefully this is the beginning of more!
Project Title Unregistered Chiffon commission (Bluebell jumperskirt) Blue version of my
"Peaseblossom Jumperskirt"Project Start Date: Errr Months ago?
Planned Finish Date: NA
Actual Finish Date: NA
Pattern(s) Used: Custom sized princess seamed bodice pattern
Materials needed: Light blue and dark blue chiffon, light blue cotton, lots of matching thread, dark blue grosgrain ribbon, venise lace applique, pearl and glass beads.
Did you make changes from original plan? I was able to do all the layers as circle skirts, rather then make the final layer a ruffle like the original, which ended up nicer.
Did you discover something you want to share? Chalkboard compasses are invaluable when marking, cutting out, and leveling chiffon circle skirts. Seriously! Finally was successful making rose petals with synthetic fabric and fire!
How happy are you with the result? 100% my customer was very happy with the results and says it fits perfectly!
Close up of applique and hand beading. Chiffon roses are attached to pin backs and are removable.
Matching headdress and rose pins.
Project Title Unregistered alteration to my "Neptune's Domain" jumperskirt
Project Start Date: NA
Planned Finish Date: NA
Actual Finish Date: NA
Pattern(s) Used: None
Materials needed: Extra seersucker fabric and lining fabric
Did you make changes from original plan? I made the jumperskirt (example peice for my line) for the Otakon fashion show, and tried to make it so it would fit both the model, and me after the fact. It worked out pretty well, except the length was a bit skimpy on me.
Did you discover something you want to share? Adding a bit at the top of the skirt takes less effort then moving the ribbon trim, or redoing embroidery! =)
How happy are you with the result? Pretty happy. I like the length now. It irks me a bit that my "example" jsk is different then everyone else's finished product. Minor gripe as the line is now retired.

Project Title : Polkadot Jumperskit Alteration
Short Project Description: This is a jsk that I made years ago out of a really great polkadot sheet that I found at goodwill. My shaped and preferences have changed quite a bit since then.
I want to replace the currently too tight empire waist bodice with a better fitted natural waist one. I also want to make the skirt fuller, and add one pocket in the side seam.
Projected Deadline: Sometime this week hopefully
Pattern(s) Used: Princess seamed bodice pattern
Materials needed: Rest of the sheet, pack of brown ric-rac, seam-ripper, elastic, white fabric, ect.
Challenges or obstacles : Taking the jsk apart took alot of patience. thats done, so I just really need to buckle down.
Image of original jsk Project Title : Diffrent (and green) Polkadot Jumperskit Alteration
Short Project Description: This is a jsk that I made years ago out of a really great polkadot sheet that I found at goodwill pulled out of the scrap pile. Again my shape has changed quite a bit, and the bodice is too tight. The original dress wasn't very lolita, so I'm frilling it up!
Adding lace to the skirt, redoing the bodice completely into a sailor style.
Projected Deadline: Sometime before the end of this month. I want to wear it for the Egl "retro" contest!
Pattern(s) Used: Altered princess seamed patter
Materials needed: Rest of the sheet, white lace, green grosgrain ribbon, elastic, ect.
Challenges or obstacles : Figuring out how to get the bodice to look right and be flattering. Not to run out of fabric
Original Dress Design Sketch
And of course I have a lot more projects in the works, including another two dress alterations, and the example peices for my next line!
