I'm game! Although I think my first project will need to be hand sewn...my machine needs to go to the repair shop....but still I'm game!

Yay! When I finish with finals I'll be setting up a poll and outline :)
Handsewing a whole dress will be such a challenge! m(_ _)m You have a lot of dedication to be able to do it!

I love the idea. I was planning to make my first lolita dress this summer but, honestly, I work better under pressure and with deadlines. This challenge sounds perfect for me!

Hooray! After finals (in about two weeks) I'll be posting an outline and a poll to choose the challenge :)

That sounds like a really cool idea. I'd so be up for this. I have so much need for motivation (and competitions seem to work well!)

So, would you be providing the pattern, or would we be self-drafting? Since you mentioned something about it being do-able if you can't alter patterns, I assume that extends to drafting too. (And is there a prize? :D)

Yay! Patterns can be self-drafted, draped, store-bought, altered, tutorials found online, have a friend do it for you, whatever! If you ever have any questions about patterning or altering a store-bought pattern, there will be threads for asking about it :) The commenting system on my blog works just like LJ so you can reply to individual comments and get email subscriptions to your own comments only.

I hadn't even thought of a prize XD I'll add that to the poll when I make it!

Ah, cool. I love pattern drafting. :3 I noticed you had a timeslot for draping; would it be okay to skip the draping stage and go straight to the drafting?

Maybe the prize could be an accesory that goes with the dress. If you got enought people and charged a small submission fee (a couple of quid/dollars/yen/etc like most competitions do), you could maybe even get a piece of jewellry or something from Baby. :3 Actually, I just looked at the prices for Baby's jewellry. Maybe that's not such a good idea. xD

Oh if you draft, you don't need to drape ;) You can do any type of thing for the pattern. It's quite free!

I will definitely include prize ideas in the poll :) Thanks for bringing it up!!
