decided to sit down and get this dressed knocked out! My friend loliandrea had commissioned this dress about a year ago, but as she is my best customer, she had me put it on hold for several other projects we've put together. I just wanted to say THANK YOU because your photo gave me a great idea on how to use some very cute Japanese fabric I got my hands on. I didn't want to make "just another skirt" and for some reason using it as a wide border like you've done here didn't occur to me.

I just hope my results end up looking half as good as this darling dress does! Good work!

you're very welcome! i loved this fabric when i saw it but thought it was waaaay too busy for a full dress made out of it. Glad it came out so well and i hope yours does too!

It looks great! Pink and red are great color combos that are often passed over in favor of blue/pink or red/white. I love how you used minimal lace and kept it simple. Now I have to go get that material in blue!

Might I ask what mannequin you have? I'm shopping around for one and I have a 35" bust/26" waist. I'd much rather pad a slightly smaller mannequin then struggle with a larger one.

So cute! I'd seen this fabric a few days ago and wondered what you could do with something like this. Now I know, and you did it splendidly!
