Since the Discussion Board and Ideas Board have moved to the Sev server and changed layout and the Sevilian Board has been completely revamped, I'd like to hear some feedback about the board changes. What's everyone think?

It's different is my first reaction
I saw it two times today just now, and (9 hrs) earlier.
The "just now" looking is a little less shocking possibly the background and text aren't meshing. There are things I like about both boards I liked the color stuff (names, read measages) but I like the Avatar feature.

But I notice things are changing too in the past few hours I think too like text color, the text box size, and stuff others mentioned in earlier posts. I also noticed an option on the colored name around where you set your Avatar so maybe that's being done as I type?

The colored name thing is there, but Johan hasn't gotten all the bugs out of it yet, so it won't work quite yet.

I think: "My god, this community still exists?! :-P

Seriously, I think that Sev is the logical place for the DB and IB (but his board implementation is crap, and not just because I can't post on it).

Johan's new php SB needs some work, but the basic functionality is there. We just need to keep nagging him to fix all the little bugs ;-)

And soon we should have a nice shiny colour scheme for the SB, too :-)

Of course the Sev server is the logical place for the DB and IB. But, as you say, it's far from being easily usable.

The SB seems to integrate the best of the old board with some snazzy new features from other types of fora.

And, yes, this place exists. Just because it's slow doesn't mean it should die. We'd have to execute all snails, slugs, turtles, tortises, then. ;-) *runs*

I dislike both of them. Not that this should be news to anyone here ;0)

The SB has the potential to turn into something usable again, and I understand that Johan's hand was forced and he had to implement it sooner than he'd have liked. So I'm not complaining. Plus, my major problems with the new design he's known for months. And they're either things that should be changing (the unreadability) or things he has no intention to change (I -ing hate avatars.)

And I hate hate hate hate HATE both of them now needing to log in. I mean, the SB doesn't *need* you to log in, but I keep feeling like these non-logged in messages will count against me. HATE logging in. Purely because I access the boards from work and therefore have to log in ten times a day.

Ah yes. Logging in. That can be a nuisance. I guess I stopped thinking about it after most sites I went to required it. Plus, I can't check at work, so I didn't even think about that.

And, you hate avatars? Then, you must dread looking at your friends page on LJ. ;-)

And, I'm not complaining about the board either. I just made suggestions. I AM complaining that my email is not fixed yet, though. Though, as long as it's merely an email-checking problem, like
