Ooh, I don't know if you're looking for new friends, but outcomewolves is a Connie Willis fan and recently read to a signing. I'm not a Willis fan, but I'm looking forward to Pegasus! New Robin McKinley doesn't seem to work as well for me as old McKinley, but it's still enjoyable.
As for good books I've been reading, I'm really loving The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson! Took a little while to get going--which I guess it to be expected at 1000 pages!--but now I'm really eager to get to the end. And I spent last month reading Lauren Willig's Pink Carnation series. Historical romance with spies! Lots of fun.
(And I do the "writing entries in my head", too. It's worse when I do it with comments though: Did I actually say something to someone or not? LOL.)
I will have to head over and say hi! It's always nice to have friends who like the same books! I think you'll like Pegasus - it's a good read, if not (imo) close to her best. And I agree with you! Blue Sword will always be one of my top five favorite books of all time! It might be time to get a new copy, mine is so worn out!
I have investigated The Way of Kings and am intrigued. I've ordered the sample for my kindle and I'll let you know what I think! Although a 10-part series does sound a little daunting...my brothers are the Robert Jordan fans, not me. But still! Yay books!
Things are pretty good, actually. I got into a study abroad program in Japan for next semester, which is pretty exciting, but also terrifying. I've also gotten completely and unhealthily obsessed with Doctor Who, which is neither here nor there.

But I've missed you! I have been failing at posting to LJ recently, too. Oops.
