I Look Fat Today

Nov 14, 2011 22:45

I've been struggling with my weight for 14 years now. Ever since I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidsm six months before my wedding, I have been on this never ending battle to keep my weight down. It's not going so well. I was 156 and pretty thin (a size 8/10) when I met my husband. When we met, I was working ten hours a day in a dry cleaner's shop, ( Read more... )

I feel your pain. I am grossly overweight, and it bothers the hell out of me, yet I seem powerless to do anything about it. I don't have any reason; I'm just lazy and love to eat. I used to diet constantly, but I don't anymore.

I sometimes feel like that old line in Absolutely Fabulous when she says, "Inside this body is a thin woman trying to get out!" and her Mum says, "Just the one, dear?"

I hope you will feel better tomorrow, and I hope you will feel better about yourself as well. Hugs to you!

Oh, honey. I sympathise. Have you ever had your TSH levels checked? The numbers can be off just a hair and throw a person for a loop. The scariest thing is that most Personal Care Physicians don't understand TSH levels enough to interpret them as being "off." It's just a thought that might help you too.

The good news is, I did the treadmill for 16 minutes today! (That is, after I laid on the couch for 2 ½ hours today! :-P)

*hugs you* I also feel your pain. I'm tall, so I get away with the extra pounds, and the fact that I grew up painfully thin made me actually love my padding. But now I have the energy of a sloth, the motivation of a corpse, and the figure of the typical, out-of-shape, middle aged woman who's given up on herself. I have tried to change things. I have tried to embrace a new perspective, but I grew tired of listening to myself lie, so now I don't even bother.

I'm insanely proud of you for putting in those 16 minutes. I think I'm even envious...

It's so hard to get motivated to make yourself hurt! I don't care how excersize makes you look afterward, I just don't want to intentionally make myself hurt to get there! I love how masochists say "feel the burn" - that burn hurts, and I don't know about you, but I have this really odd tendency to avoid pain? So I don't try to intentionally hurt myself in any way. Now, if I could find a way that I could get rid of all this cellulite on my thighs and my fat arse without discomfort (or putting me into bankruptcy - because let's face it, plastic sugery is NOT an option) then I'll probably have solved the world's obesity problem!

I think my favorite phrase is "Kiss my dimpled ass." I just won't come off the same if I didn't actually have dimples. I want to keep a few of them.

One on each side would be nice, eh? I like the fact that I have what some men call an "apple bottom", but I just don't like it looking like a cantaloupe right now.
