What I Just Finished Reading: I started out with three great ones and then ended on a stinker. I read The Gates by John Connolly, Bird Box by Josh Malerman, The Lie Maker by Linwood Barclay, and Island Rule by Katie M. Holmes. Reviews below.

What I'm Reading Right Now: Technically I'm reading book 3 of the Commune series, but I plan on DNFing it.

Yay for so many good books but boo that they took such a drastic turn for the worse. LOL

Happy to hear you liked Bird Box! I thought the movie was good, but man, the book really brought the tension and anxiety. There's a sequel called Malorie, but I haven't read it yet.

Here's to hoping your next book isn't a dud!

I saw that sequel mentioned. I'm hoping they'll have a copy at the central library next time I'm in town.

Hoping that they do! Hahaha - I know the feeling. Troy once told me I had to be immortal because I'd never get everything read by the time I die. LOL

I loved Bird Box! I think it was the first of Malerman's books that I read, and it turned me into a fan. Though I didn't think its sequel was quite as good, I still found it enjoyable.

The Book of Accidents was another favorite. Both Malerman and wendig are on my "have to read everything they write" list.

"Bird Box" was sooooo good. The pacing was perfect, I was tense the whole time. "Malorie" may be available at the central library.

Loved the Wendig too (of course!)
