I just had a peek at that challenge too even though I'm not sure I can take another one on this year (maybe next year if it runs?) and couldn't help but smile to myself at the prompt about a book with an insect on the cover - it reminded me of the time, the week before I turned seven years old, when my family were on holiday and my dad was reading a book with a dead wasp as the cover image. I hated that cover and was always hiding that book under the chair. When I hid it under the chair on the morning we left, I thought he'd realise that because I'd done it so many times before - except he actually thought he'd already packed it, so we left the cottage without it and he only missed it that night at the hotel we moved on to.

LOL! Love that story. And that is the prompt that I am dreading the most, because I hate and am afraid of bugs of all description. I totally stand with 6-year-old you!

Would it count if it was a book that had had an insect on one version of its cover, but you actually read an edition without it? ha ha. The book I hid was Master of the Moor by Ruth Rendell, if you need one to pick. Years later, it came up in conversation and Dad said from what he remembered of the book, he had no idea why it had a dead wasp on the cover because he couldn't remember a wasp being in the story.

Well, my challenge my rules, right? LOL I'll keep it in mind, especially since bugs don't seem to actually play a part in the book!

I've read every day except 6 this year. I always try to make time for it. If only I didn't have to work... :)
