The Reading Year in Review

I think I found this on someone's LJ at the end of 2020, but I don't recall where. But I saved it so I could do it *this* year. My personal rule was that I could only use one book per category, although I did break that rule once.

I loved Boyfriend Material so much. It's rare that a book will make you laugh, bring you to tears, and then have you laughing again all on the same page.

You might actually enjoy The Guncle, if you haven't already read it.

I'm so looking forward to the sequel!

The Guncle has now become the first book for 2022 on the Want to Read list, which currently stands at 175 books. Eeeeek!

Same here!

I hope you like it. It made me both laugh and cry at times. Patrick starts out as a bit of a jerk, but he gets better. Hoping he doesn't put you off at the beginning.

I'll stick with him! I remember the first time I watched Iron Man and Tony Stark is such a dick at the beginning and I was like, "THIS is the guy that everybody loves so much?!?" LOL

I checked my library website and there are 14 people ahead of me on the hold list, so it'll be awhile before I can check it out.

Cool way to review the year. I don't think I read enough variety to really cover many of those categories.

For me, that's one of the best things about the various reading challenges I join. The prompts encourage me to read things I wouldn't necessarily ever pick up.

Yes it's fun to try and find books to fit the various categories.

Boyfriend Material is on my TBR pile! Apart from Shutter Island I don't know any of the other books so I'll definitely look at it!

And in the same style, have you read Red, White and Royal Blue?
