Ups and Downs

So. Saturday was a weird day. On the one hand, I accomplished things from the 101 Things list and I did the boring-but-necessary stuff like cleaning my apartment, and I finished my latest book (below). But in between that, I pulled out my hair and furrowed my brow and cursed a lot. That part was not fun ( Read more... )

Ugh on the printer. I have that problem at work sometimes and I'll have to restart both the printer and the computer to get it to work again.

Also, occasionally with the Kobo, you'll have to deauthorize ADE and the reauthorize it to get your books to effing sync. Just... why Kobo, why? Getting library books for the Kindle is so much easier, but I'm trying to break that Amazon cycle. LOL

I 100% agree on Gone Girl. It was great until that last bit and the ending completely ruined it. *sigh* Sharp Objects was definitely a better book. Still need to read Dark Places though.

Technology HATES me. I hate technology right back.

I looked up "deauthorize ADE on kobo" and got this:
Connect your ereader to your computer.
Open ADE on your computer.
Click on your ereader under "Devices."
Select Device Options, then Erase Device Authorization. Click Erase Authorization to confirm.

What is ADE on my computer? And once I have done that, how would I then reauthorize it? If you can help, I'd appreciate it. :)

I'm glad I am not alone in my appraisal of Gone Girl. Such potential ruined in a few short pages!

I know the feeling, trust me!

ADE is Adobe Digital Editions. Sorry for the abbreviation, I'm a lazy typer sometimes.

It's one of those twists that really was more of a letdown. *sigh* But other than that, it was great.

Oh, no worries. I did a search for the full term and it doesn't appear that I have that on my computer. Which of course is no big surprise because technology STILL hates me. Thanks for trying to help!

I haven't read Gone Girl, but I saw the movie and definitely felt let down by the ending.

I LOVED Gone Girl! I cannot believe you remained unspoiled for this long! LOL She started me on the genre of NO FRIGGIN WAY endings. All her books are really good.

Awesome job with your card! You'll definitely get it covered!

I've spent years learning how to stay unspoiled for all my favourite TV shows so I guess I've just got the knack! LOL

Argh I hate tech issues like that. It can be something so simple - you'd think - and it takes ages to sort out.

Is that Gone Girl as in the Ben Affleck film? I haven't seen it. Glad you enjoyed it but shame about the ending.

Technology hates me. It really does.

I didn't even know there WAS a film, so I'm not sure who is in it. It's such a great book, it's just a shame that the ending ruins much of the enjoyment.

Yeah I haven't seen the film. I don't know if Ben Affleck was IN it but I think he either produced or directed it.
