Ugh on the book (and yes, reading is being productive in my world). Cozy mysteries are such a mixed bag. Some are SO GOOD and others are just... dumb.
Oh, the latch hook looks cute! I used to do that a lot when I was a kid. It kept me busy and out of my mom's hair. LOL Not sure if my hands and wrists could handle it these days. Have fun with it!
I feel you on the heat, but it's normal for here this time of year. Currently, it's 105F. A predicted high of 108F tomorrow, which is hot, but a sight better than the 117F we were having a week or so ago. Stay cool!
Yay for productivity, then! I have two more of the cozy mystery variety on my Kindle that I got through Kindle Unlimited. One of them involves a witch. I'm hoping they're better. I picked them also because they fulfill prompts, but I do think the little write-ups sound cute and I WANT to like them.
I don't find that my hand bothers me at all while doing the latch look but I have found that I have pain in my hand when I try to use a pen if I do too much. It's nice and relaxing and I enjoy it but I'm pretty sure I won't pick up another.
You're in Arizona, aren't you? I've visited Tucson a few times and absolutely loved it. When I was there the first time we passed by one of those LED signs outside of a shop that announced the time and weather and I was shocked to discover it was 110 degrees! Because there was no humidity it just felt lovely to me. It's the humidity that kills me. Of course, that was years ago when I was younger. Who knows how I would feel now. LOL!
Yay! I'm a sucker for the lot of them. At least if you get them through KU you're not losing any money.
Must be something about the way you hold the hook vs how you hold a pen. Hey, nothing wrong with that though. You did one, you had fun, you moved on.
Close, I'm in Nevada. That's what a lot of people don't understand until they've experienced it. It's a big joke around here and in Arizona saying, "but it's a dry heat!". However, having lived in Houston? It makes all the difference in the world. 90 with low humidity isn't all that bad. Hah, true! It does affect you differently when you get older.
Oooh, Nevada! I've only been there for like a 36-hour stopover type thing between legs of a trip, and that was only in Vegas. But yeah, the whole "dry heat" thing is NO LIE. So much nicer!
The latch hook rug looks good so far - look forward to seeing it completed!
Phew, that is hot! My hubby and I were just in Christchurch visiting our daughter, and of course it's colder down there (not Canada kind of cold, yet!) so were quite happy to leave the 8C day and come home to a 14C evening, but today started at 2C here in Auckland! Brrr, think we brought the cold with us! It's predicted to get up to 12C though and according to my computer is at 11C already. Still cold enough to my mind!!! Take care of yourself in the heat! ;-)
I'm starting to believe NZ is basically the best place on Earth. Your winters seem to be pretty much what our weather is like when winter is just turning into spring. Why oh why didn't my ancestors head that direction when they decided to emigrate? GRRRR.
Hope you had a lovely visit with your daughter. :)
We did! She had her 25th birthday while we were there, and also showed us some places and markets around where she lives. It was so nice not to be at work, and we enjoyed spending time with her!
Sorry the book was disappointing. It does sound cute.
Latch hook kits are fun, like giant Cross stitch. Can't wait to see the finished one.
We're just got out of a small heatwave here. Not quite the same temps as you have but even so it's been horrible. The Met Office here put out amber warnings for heat for the first time ever for the UK.
