Remember when I wrote out a list of goals for the year and said I was gonna make a conscious effort to be around more/write more/work on my health/all that jazz? Yeah, me too

Wow. I saved this post to memories just for the book recs (anything that begins with a BDSM series has my attention). Great job on the reading.
I took one of your suggestions from last year & have started to participate in the 1_million_words community. I'm having a great time and actually getting some words out. Whee!
Can you bring a notebook and write on your commute? I used to do that when I lived in LA & Chicago and then transpose it into my computer when I got home. Might be worth a shot.
I read some really great books this year. HOnestly, "The Last Hour of Gann" and "Land of the Beautiful Dead" have stuck in my head a lot because they're so different and unusual (and so well done considering they are self-pubbed.) In the actual published-for-reals sense, GAH. So many choices. The Red Rising series is so brilliant (I am rereading it now, actually, in prep for reading book 4) and the Guild Hunter series is excellent. Black Dagger Brotherhood has some continuity/dropped storyline issues but is great too. So those would be my recs to start. I think.
Unfortunately I can't write or read on the bus, it makes me feel sick. But I am hoping to pick up a cheap little laptop sometime in the next few weeks, that I can use during that 1.5 hour to 2 hour window when I'm technically AT work but haven't actually punched in yet. That would make a huge difference.
It was so good to see you over at 1_million_words! Hoping there are some more word wars this weekend. :)
Thank you! I am still trying to get caught up on the word count obligation I made for this month, but I hope that by February I'll have some kind of routine at least in the beginning stages. I miss you guys!
Congrats on the reading achievement! 100 books read in a year is excellent :)
It's really difficult to figure out a good balance of goals when you've had a major life change. Consider last year as research. Now that you have an idea on what the commute is like and what kind of things you are comfortable doing during the commute - you can adjust your goals. Nothing wrong with focusing on one or two areas that you can achieve and have smaller goals for the ones that are harder to fit in right now.
Sorry I didn't get your note about a word war until now. Is next weekend do-able?
I like that! And I am already doing better in January at setting aside time to get a few things done. Of course, then I was also sick which totally messed up last weekend and set me back, butttttttt it's always somethin'. LOL
Sorry I didn't see YOUR comment about word wars, but glad I was able to participate last Sunday. Man, those help SO much.
