You know, I really enjoy reading my flist. I love hearing about someone's day. They're often not the type of entries that I'd comment on, same as only a few people comment on my own rambly "my day" posts. But I find them really interesting. Just saying.

Falcons and Kestlers and Owls, oh my )

I have never seen "Phantom of Paradise"; perhaps I should check it out. But Johnny & Baby? How could you turn it off :) I get sucked into "Grease" or "The Usual Suspects". I can never turn the channel if they are on late at night. Clearly, I don't sleep enough.

"Phantom of the Paradise" is a 70's rock/glam opera version of Phantom of The Opera mixed with the tale of Faust, with a bit of The Picture of Dorian Gray thrown in for good measure. It's campy and glammy and silly and just plain fun!

Grease - oh yes. I am the same way... if it's on TV, I have to watch it. Even though I do own it on VHS. "Tell me more, tell me more, did you get very far.." Hee!

OMG, ick! Sweetie! Don't use WMP (aka Wimp) to rip your cds unless you absolutely have to. I use MusicMatch Jukebox 9 - in part because it came with my Dell computer. But the pay versions of WinAmp will rip cds too, and they aren't too expensive. And doesn't WMP only rip to .wma format? I've never been able to get it to make .mp3 format audio files. Not a big fan of .wma files. Maybe that's just me though. Oh, and WinAmp is much much better for creating correctly formated IDV3 tags - the info tags that are part of a mp3 file. [/ opinionated ranting about mp3s, 'cause I'm anal too you know] :-P

Speaking of 80's movie/musicals... how about The Pirate Movie with Kristy McNichol and Christopher Atkins? hehehehe It was so fun!

You must remember that I am technologically challenged. Liz had to take me step by step through WMP in order for me to figure out even how to work the thing! I did, however, just try MusicMatch Jukebox, but it gives me error messages. And I know what I'm doing with WMP, so I'm cool with that. And yes, it does just make .wma files, but those are playable on everything unless you have a Mac, right? It's not like I have an Ipod or anything that I want to put them on. Not that I even know whether they play on an Ipod anyway.

Have never seen The Pirate Movie, though it does appear on lots of Guilty Pleasure lists!
