The Finale -- The Year-End State of Me

Jan 08, 2016 09:54

Happy (Belated) New Year, friends! I have barely had the computer on thus far in 2016, and there is still a lot of craziness in my life (and a bit of sucktasticness, too) but I told myself that today I would make a start on getting things back to normal. So the first thing is my State of Me, where I hold myself accountable for the results of the ( Read more... )

I do tend to be a glass-half-full kind of gal. The support and love I felt from my family and friends this year truly kept me going.

Glad you had a lovely Christmas. Henry looks like a lovely dog.
I spent Christmas with my mother and we had a great time and I have been eating everything in sight. I will have to cut down but not until February. ;)
Glad you're doing okay and happy new year!

Henry is so adorable, and so well-behaved too. I loved him!

So glad to hear that you had a happy Christmas. I saw some of your posts with your xmas gifts and silly mustaches, totally adorable!

I read Room when it came out, saw the movie last week, and am thinking seriously of rereading the book when I finish my current one (What Is the What). Emma Donoghue wrote the screenplay, so you know it sticks close to the book, but there's one twist I don't remember, so I want to see whether or not the problem is with my memory.

I may give Uprooted a try, and you put Creed on my To Be Seen list. FanSee

"Room" unfortunately didn't play in our theatres here (well, it played for one night at a rep house, but it was a night I was working so I couldn't go.) I had it on my Want To See list, too. Along with "The 33" and "Concussion", both of which only played at the theatre that is suuuuper far from my apartment and also suuuuper expensive -- and "The 33" was only there for one week! Thankfully the next one on my To See list is "The Revenant" and it's playing at the downtown cinema, yay. That's where I'm headed tomorrow. And I got movie gift cards for Christmas, so it's freeeee. Woot!

Uprooted reads a little like fanfic, but it's enjoyable. If you'd like I can send it to you. :)

My husband and I are big Survivor fans too. We stopped watching for a few seasons, but then started again when Coach Jimmy Johnson was on. We're also catching up on seasons we missed. Right now we're watching Fans v Favorites, the first one (it looks like maybe there were two?)

I had only ever seen the Boston Rob (my favourite) and Rupert seasons, and then decided that I wanted to see Season One because I really adore Hatch in his appearance in All-Stars. From there it somehow... snowballed. There's almost always someone to root for, and once I reached Cook Islands (S13, I think) and found OZZY I was definitely hooked. Ozzy is also in the first Fans Vs. Favourites season that you are watching right now -- that boy is aaaaahmazing.

I'm up to Season 28 now, yikes. How time flies when you're a coach potato. ;)

GO OZZY.
