When I came up with this great plan, I had never been to Toronto Island. Now I've been there and have discovered that there are loads of farm animals, so we would even have eggs from the chickens and possibly pork if we could handle killing a piglet or a goat once it grew up. It is the best plan EVAH. HEE.
(Toronto Island is where Oliver the Massive Pig lives)
OK, so it looks like you'll be set for food. (or is that sacrilege?) 0:-)
That looks like a fairly large island, so I have to ask: how do you plan to clear it of walkers? If you stay docked out of reach and make daily forays, would that do it?
There are islands down here (Captiva, Sanibel, Marco) but they're all connected by bridges, and frankly I wouldn't want to chance it.
I think I'm going to have to hope I buy it in the first wave. ::sigh::
It would be very sad to butcher a pig or a chicken. I say we let them live. At least we'd have eggs. *nods* And we'd have to live on the boat, but the plus side? No bridges! Could totally do it. You are welcome to come join me and and my jaunty band of survivors if you like. :D

They are not waterproof because they have all those holes bitten into them from when they got infected. *nod*
