So this evening Mr. Willis The Computer would not turn on. Got a light on the power button. Heard vague noises from inside the machine. But no whirrrr of start-up. I finally unplugged the power cable, waited a minute, then plugged it back in and tried again. It worked ( Read more... )

The computer is less than two years old. :( When I brought it in last time, though, they said that unless it does it while they're standing there *watching*, they can't diagnose it. Which makes NO sense to me. Also, not under warranty anymore I don't think. *sigh*

Well, Mr. Willis did the same thing this morning, but unplugging and replugging again got him to work. At this point I'm just hoping for the best.

And I have a half-finished John/Matt written for smallfandomfest as well as a start on my smallfandombang fic. So there will be something coming, anyway. :)

After a bit of arguing with Acer over my warranty and faxing a copy of the extended warranty I purchased, I shipped mine off to Texas for a repair. We are tied to these machines that have shelf lives of fruit flies.

I hope Mr. Willis gets better.

Right?? For what we pay we should be getting more value for our bucks. If it gets to the point where he won't turn on I'll call the 1-800 number that I have for Acer. Otherwise I'm just hoping and praying.

Why does 'fucking technology' hate you so? I just don't understand! I am sure I have had this computer since just after I moved to the house and that was in 2007! Maybe I purchased it in early 2008 at the latest!!! Let me know if another computer purchasing trip is in the works but fingers crossed everything will be ok!!!

I know, Jen!!!! It always happens to me!! At the very least I see a visit to a repair shop in our future. Hopefully it's in our FAR future!
