So I just went into my hotmail junk folder and found spam *from myself*. So. Apparently my hotmail has been... I dunno? Hacked? If you get something from me with about "pzifer" or something like that, with a link -- I didn't send it

My email got hacked a few weeks back and was actually taken over completely (to the point where I couldn't change the password). I had to start up a new account and asked hotmail to delete the old account, but I don't know if they got around to it. Initially it was just the first day of being compromised that people I knew were getting bullshit emails from me. I warned everyone so I think the hackers ended up hitting a dead end and I'm hoping that they've left that old account to rot in some dead email address wasteland.

But I was (and still am) royally pissed about the whole thing.

Ack, I can imagine! Everything *looks* fine on my end, so it appears as though it's just someone using my email addy, but not actually having access to my account. Apparently it's quite easy to just change the "from" info. At least I'm hopeful that that's what it is. If not I'll have to go your route. So sorry that happened to you!
