I love all the squabbling and how it's affectionate even when it's barbed. And it was awesome seeing all the parts of John's life (work, Matt, Lucy, Lucy's boyfriend) all in one fic. And god I want to be a fly on the wall at that barbecue xD

Wonderful job, especially their voices, and their attitudes.

It actually makes a terrifying kind of sense for Lucy to be attracted to someone who is in the same line of work as John. She has never quite forgiven John for being a cop and having responsibilities that took him away from his family, yet now, as an adult, those same characteristics attract her.

I totally bought John's recognition of falling in love as being similar to being hit over the head and that there really is not a lot anyone can do to fight against it. He's in love with Matt and Matt is in love with him, and yes, they really are partners.

Totally loved the story, and got a hell of a kick out of that rookie Gianetti having a crush on Connie. I like Connie a lot.

Thank you so much! I like to think that a post-fire-sale Lucy has a better idea now of what it means to be a cop -- what it means to actually put your life on the line -- and it makes sense that she'd find herself attracted to someone else who does just that.

And Connie Kowalski could be in every DH story and I wouldn't mind a bit. She kicks ass! :)
