Last leftover drabble from the most recent drabble tree:

Title: Waiting for This for Seven Years
Character/Pairing: Beecher/Keller
Timeframe: Post Season Six AU
Word Count: 100

Waiting for This for Seven Years
by Severina

Toby paces back and forth in front of the car.

“You’re going to wear a hole in the pavement,” Holly says.

She sounds so much like her mother that Toby stops, blinks at her before smiling sheepishly. “I’ve been waiting for this for seven years.”

“I know,” Holly says. She takes his hand. “I’m sorry Harry doesn’t… understand.”

Toby squeezes gently. “Harry will learn to adapt.”

He spins at the sound of the door.

Chris steps outside, squinting into the unfamiliar sunlight.

“Breathe, Dad,” Holly says.

He returns her grin before releasing her hand, and falls into Chris’s open arms.

The first ever Oz fic I wrote, for a drabble tree in January 2009. Yeek.

Title: Empty Silence
Character/Pairing: Chris Keller
Timeframe: Season Five
Word Count: 100

Empty Silence
by Severina

LoPresti wheels a portable television set into the hallway; smirks as Keller watches the inauguration. The picture on the tiny set flickers -- reception must suck ass in protective custody -- but Keller still catches the glint in Toby’s eyes. When Toby looks directly at the camera, Keller instinctively shies away. LoPresti finally turns off the set, and Keller hears phantom rhymes in the empty silence.

He wonders why Beecher doesn’t have a beard.

Keller awakens slick with sweat. There is nothing amusing about the dream, but in the cold darkness of his cell, breathing heavily, he tries to pretend there is.

And lastly, a new drabble. This came about because I've been horribly writers-blocked for the last couple of weeks, to the point where I had written random pieces of dialogue everywhere but couldn't write a coherent story to save my life. I was getting SOOOO frustrated and (as always) the lovely ozsaur was there to chat it out. Her suggestion -- that if what I normally do isn't working, I must do what I normally would NOT do -- turned out to be a revelation. Three days ago she assigned me a character that I don't like, pulled up a theme, handed me the First Sentence and forced me to write Vern Schillinger.

I grunted and grumbled and complained and then actually wrote something that didn't totally suck.

And that forced the floodgates open and since then I've written 2000 words of actual story and oh-baby it feels so gooooood. THANK YOU ozsaur!

Title: Fathers and Sons
Character/Pairing: Vern Schillinger
Timeframe: Season Three
Word Count: 100

Fathers and Sons
by Severina

If Vern had a weakness, it would be his sons.

He tried his best to do right by them. He raised them to respect their country and their heritage. He taught them right from wrong.

To see Andrew lost in the maze of drug abuse sickens him. Disgusts him.

To see Andrew roughhousing with Bitcher and Keller -- with his prags -- disgusts him even more.

A jut of the chin, a meeting in the corner, a furtive exchange of cash and LoPresti is willing to do the deed.

He’ll see if Andrew has what it takes to carry the Schillinger name.
