Thanks! I am sure the weekend will be wonderful. :)

I could have met Randy last year, but I chose not to -- the giddiness I experienced just seeing him in the parking lot made me realize that I could definitely not handle a Randy & Vicki one-on-one. LOL

I never write "Vicki" because I didn't know if I could write it in my journal or not.

Jackie says, "Hi."

HI. :)

I am just trying to decide if I should go to bed now. I've been up 25.5 hours. But I'm kind of wired. Gee, I wonder why? :D

What kind of lunch do you want?

Where is dinner and who is going? Yes, I cannot wait till tomorrow for the answer to these questions. :) OMG TOMORROW.

The saliva foam comes from the metals in the bit. A wet mouth is more sensitive/responsive to the bit than a dry one, and so many riders will use a bit with copper or "sweet iron" inlays to make the horse salivate more. Hickstead's lack of foam indicates that he was probably using a stainless steel bit.

I haven't been keeping up with the Games, but I'm glad for Eric. He's a good rider and Hickstead is a solid jumper. I'm pleased that Beezy won an individual medal because I really like her...though anyone but Ward would have made me happy LOL.

I KNEW YOU WOULD KNOW. I thought of you several times during the event. :)

Is it better or easier or nicer on the horses to use a stainless steel bit? Because the horses with the copper bit didn't look happy about it. They were usually the ones throwing their heads and showing their teeth.

I feel like I want to watch show jumping all the time now!

Stainless steel just lasts longer and looks "cleaner." It doesn't have a benefit to the horse one way or the other. Some horses do better in a copper or sweet iron bit because they like the taste. One of my horses will periodically stand at the pasture gate and lick the rusting spots ( ... )

but chances are the majority of them were just fine. :)

That makes me feel better, thanks. And thanks for all the horse info. You're the best. :)
