*August* is the cruelest month

I really hate August.  I'm not really a "summer" person.  The first month of it is fine-- it's warm, there's sun after practically 6 months of winter, I get to wear skirts, there's lilacs in bloom, no more classes... but by the time August rolls around it pretty much sucks.  Heat stroke, dehydration, mosquitoes, that blasted yellow day star out all ( Read more... )

Carmilla is good but there is a whole series of books based on the current doctor (and the ninth aswell)

i have always liked the work of Michelle Tea but its not that gritty

Watchmen or V for Vendetta

I just started reading a good one, I'm a little over half way through and I'm enjoying it.

It's called "The Bone Garden" - Tess Something-with-a-G.
The Author is a doctor, so she knows what she is talking about in terms of the medical world.

...Anyways, it jumps back and forth from the late 1800s to the present. It's about this guy who is trying to become a doctor, but he's poor so he is a Ressurectionist (See Also: Grave Robber), and he is suspected of a string of Jack The Ripper style murders.

The charecters are compelling, there is a lot of swirling mist and plot twists... and to see the way history impacts the present is really interesting.

If you'd like to borrow it when I get done, you are more than welcomed to it. :)
I love to trade books with people.
So long as they don't steal them.
