Life on Mars Slasher's Guide Series 2: Episode 1
I have heard the public and have given into their demands.
As with The First Guide: With use of screencaps and some transcription I have pinpointed what I perceive as slashy moments, moments that can be given a slasher's twist, and moments that explore certain relationship aspects that canbe further explored via slash.
Although I acknowledge the existence of potential homoerotic tension between other characters, this guide is Sam/Gene specific.
Somewhat valid, somewhat silly, with a little self-mockery as a slasher thrown in. I hope you find it entertaining and possibly inspiring.

What's brilliant here is how even though Gene has just KNOCKED HIS DOOR IN, Sam is neither surprised nor really all that upset. Clearly this gets done often. How understanding. Also clearly Gene has gotten in a habit of just knocking in Sam's door since the first time he done it, he got a naked Sam handcuffed to the bed. And who wouldn't want to try and recreate those conditions?
The only thing to make this better would be a potentially suggestive gesture.

Gene calls Sam "Gladys" for the third time. aaaw.
When at a loss for words with the press, Sam helps out behind his hand. Again, he's not upset or disgusted that Gene is unable to answer a simple question, but just backs him up.
He may say that he "weeps with joy every morning" for working with Gene sarcastically, but it's just to throw Woolf off. ;)
"He's not so different from you when you were my DI, Gene."
Mmm...potential character parallels (that unfortunately are left unexplored).
Ah, Sam helping others get in touch with their feminine side.
Scene in which we get girl name for Sam #2 "Daphne"
"Guv, don't you ever look at somebody you're sending down and wish you would've done it years ago?"
Oh, Sammy Sammy Sammy-boy. How often has Gene said similar things? You're so unwilling to acknowledge how alike you are. Similar moment later when Sam gleefully says, "But it gives an excuse to start kicking doors down!" Actually, since this is pretty much the theme of the episode, referencing each moment would get repetitive, so we'll leave it here.
"Somtimes you have a look again at who you have around you, you might find the strength you need."
Oh, Nelson. My very own slash Mary-Sue. especially since Sam...
Goes straight to Gene.
Who for once is doing things Sam's way. Except Sam doesn't want that way now. Jesus Sam, what does it take to make you happy? Gene's trying to change for you. For example
"And we also have no flipping evidence! And I can't beleive I just said that!" see?
uh ohs...one of those het moments again...
But is stopped by Fate! Tony Crane has very good timing.
Whoops, looks like the earlier sarcasm didn't throw Woolf off. "Work together on this one." Aw, he just wants his protege to be happy with his boyfriend.
And now even the random thugs know of Sam and Gene's true love, "we thought you'd like to die together." How romantic.

Right ending bit. All comes down to Gene believing who's more cracked, Sam or Tony Crane. Gene loves and trusts Sam, so of course he'll take Sam's side. How can anyone resist this face?

GENE: It's clinical detention for your own safety under...[looks purposefully at Sam]
SAM: Section 9 of the Mental Health Act.
GENE: Get the doc in here with a big-
SAM: Bastard big!
GENE: Bastard big sedative. Once the doc's satisfied you need specialist treatment under...
SAM: Section 12.
GENE: You'll be transfered to a secure hospital
They clearly enjoyed that.
a toast to "our team." Which could be a collective team "our", but can conceivable mean a just Sam'n'Gene "our"
and we end with Sam giving Gene a steamy look. rawr.
