I wonder if McCallum really couldn't stand David Collings (Silver) ? Collings has given interviews where he claims McCallum was annoyed that the show wasn't just S&S, & was jealous of the relationship portrayed between Silver & Sapphire. And the rumours of an affair between Lumley & McCallum started by the producer. I really shouldn't be so intrigued by tittle-tattle !!

Liking your journal - I'm also a big fan of LoM & can't wait till the new series airs here soon, but S&S is possibly my favourite show ever -precisely cos it never gave an inch to its audience.

Thank you so much for the link! It answered questions I was just the other day discussing with a friend.

Though on-set intrigues are definitely fascinating, I can't bring myself to speculate on the affairs for S&S (maybe because it's old enough, it doesn't really matter?). But I'll say the notion that something could have actually been going on betweeb Lumley and McCallum wouldn't be surprising. Their chemistry is freakin' hawt.
