It's the hallmark of my holiday fics for Dan and Herbert. Dan tries hard to continue with traditions and treat their relationship like it was any other he had with pasts girlfriends. But of course Herbert just behaves like Herbert: a stubborn brat.

LOL the ending is just so perfect. Poor Dan. I admire his determination but it's hilarious and sad that Herbert is never going to do much besides roll his eyes and tolerate it provided he has a caffeine headache.

He just might have gotten away with the pancakes, and Herbert might not have been so mean in the shower if it wasn't Valentine's Day. Which is why he gave the rose petals a try on President's Day instead. At least Dan sorta got cuddles out of it. It's the small victories with Herbert...
