Ize made a doll

My actual camera has alas decided to stop working all together, so I only have my laptop's webcam. So you won't get to see my first complete, hand-stitched, plush doll in detail. It's based off my own design. I have never done anything like this before. That's because I have no skill or training in sewing. I go into fabric stores and I panic. But jenaviraRead more... )

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, he is scary! And he clearly needs extra stitches on the cheekbone;)

:( I think he's cute! Maybe just a mother's love? And you're right! Will take him to Jen's and see if she has some thread that'll work.

I just have childhood traumas of big button eyes, I suppose. And those *do* fit Shaw's big sad droopy eyes, so I didn't mean it in a bad way:). Does he have a Bodie to be manly and angsty with?

Exactly!

And as I said, this is the first dolly I've ever made (well...there was first pseudo attempt that was more an exercise to find out how one would go about doing such a thing. and it was an abomination), but there will definitely be a Bodie in the future. Although, Jen has yet to make Napoleon companions for the Illya dolls she's made.

you know I've sewn button eyes on my Illya doll...

oh, and do you have some maybe pinkish thread so maybe I can try and give him something to imitate the broken cheekbone?

Hey, very good! Love the big green eyes. :)

Are you planning on giving him a little Bodie friend, or will he be alone for the rest of his plushy life?

I hope so, just no guarantee when I'll get around to it. I do have this massive bag of stuffing and it's gonna have to go towards somehing.

Haha, you know just before I clicked the cut I was thinking "she'll never have got the (BIG) hair, no way." And guess what? You got the (BIG) hair exactly right! XD

Well, done, very cute.

I am well shocked, myself. The hair I had no idea what to do. A friend suggested unraveling yarn to make curls....but left it at that. Asked another crafty friend how I should actually attach the yarn to make it look like curls, and she said "Frankly, I didn't know what she (the person who suggested yarn) was getting at either."

So I winged it!

If this is the button eyed!Doyle, does that mean there's an Other!Cowley somewhere who doesn't yell and shares his scotch?

And the more I look at him the more strangely compelling he is.

That's exactly what it's like! LOL

And other!Bodie doesn't grab at his bum. Which clearly isn't an improvement, but it's one of those things that seems like it at first until Doyle realizes it was one of those endearing qualities he now misses.
