Well, no wonder trying to read With Caution was confusing and odd, it turns out it was the second book of a series! Jenny gave me two more books tonight, but I don't know if one of them is the first book, or she just discovered this for herself so she's reading the first one right now ( Read more... )

Okay, having seen the ads for it on Comedy Central, I have no notion of every watching that movie in full, but will someone please fill me in on what exactly are you referencing from it?

Or is it really the exact same thing? Would it help to add that one of the books she was looking for was in fact Pregnancy for Dummies (but our copy seems to have gone missing)?

Y'know, considering I grew up in a rural area of Indiana, we had some remarkably good public education. We started sex ed in fifth grade too, and in sixth grade we were talking about AIDS and STDs and how to avoid them.

It does make me wonder just where are these schools that are so influenced by social conservatives that they do teach abstinence-only, or have those programs that are said to tell out right lies and myths about reproduction and STDs.
