Title: New Habits Die Hard Pairings: None, Gen Word Count: 830 (brief shortie) Spoilers: Set 2x08. Summary: Somehow habits of a few months have overshadowed habits of a lifetime.
I can just see Sam feeling this way, acting this way. I'm a bit annoyed we didn't get to in the show. The lighting of the cigarette is heartbreaking. Oh, Sam.
Yeah, there should have been a bit more about his inability to adjust. I Know it's all implied. To taking it at face value he just came off as bored. I liked playing with the notion that as much as he tried to make the 1970s more modern, once back in his own time, he'd start wanting to make Modern day more like the 70s.
I had to curb my initial inclination to make the whole cigarette thing more slashy. But like the show, I think it leaves enough to still be interpreted as such if you so desire.
Aaw, Sam. He's so tightly wound all the time, and so used to hitting back at that point, that it's kind of a marvel he never resorts to physical violence back in 2007. Well done.
