WGA Strike

Dec 07, 2007 22:56

Well, it looks like there's not going to be a conclusion to the strike anytime in the near future. Apparently I'm finally going to have time to catch up on all of my fandoms (and, knowing me, get some new ones) once the new year rolls around. :-/

If you haven't heard, AMPTP just broke off negotiations.

Information here.

I just read about that. Assholes. Seriously, wtf? Didn't they learn from the 1988 strike? They lost like 500 million back then, the loss is gonna be so much bigger with the inflation and everything...

I know it's all about greed, but still... you'd think they'd see that they're really just shooting themselves in the foot.

Oh for the love of...

At best they're (The Producers) going to look like whiney babies. At worst this is going to hurt everyone

Okay - I don't know all of the story but if they get this right - they avoid the SAG and the DGA going on strike as well. They have an oppurtunity to save themselves a lot of hassle and they're piddling it down the drain.

So bloody angry right now (at this and a number of other 'smaller' issues as well.)

ARGH!

(Sorry - early morning and haven't had my first caffiene infusion of the day yet!)

I know exactly what you mean. *makes face* My roommate thought I was crazy last night, when I started ranting about it to her.

*sigh*

I guess this means I'll have time to watch all my back-burnered Classic Who!

And hell, at least we'll have UK TV. ;)

Pretty much the only shows that I watch that won't be affected by the strike are Stargate Atlantis and Doctor Who/Torchwood (well, Monk and Psych too but my watching of them is more sporadic) so I'm definitely going to be pulling out the series that I've been meaning to watch but haven't gotten around to watching.

This saddens me so much but the producers have never shown them selves to be the sharp knife.

Well at least I have BBC America and more time to catch up on fandom
