I've come to the conclusion that I'm never going to get this [insert creative explenitives here] book read. *sigh* I've got to finish it today so that I can write the paper tomorrow, since I'm supposed to turn it in to Dr. Morris first thing Monday morning ( Read more... )

Want to help me figure out which aspect of the book I want to write my paper on? I'm supposed to pick on of the three (guns, germs, or steel) and write 5-7 pages on it.

At the moment, I'm learning toward germs ... but I'm not sure. :-/

It could be germs. The thing I found most interesting about that was the part about how the germs destroyed the Mississippi culture(the mound builders) really before any settlers got there. And there's enough there for a paper. Just a thought. It's also marginally local to you.

I think that's going to be the part I focus on. I'll spend most of the paper talking about the impact in the Americas, and then I'll talk a little about similar instances in other places.
