In other fandom-related news, David Gaider is leaving Bioware.

I'm definitely more upset about this news than I am the Doctor Who news, but that's probably because Dragon Age is still an active fandom for me while Doctor Who hasn't been in quite some time (and mostly because of Moffat). I hadn't actually heard the Doctor Who news until I read your post (which probably goes to show how uninvolved with it I've become as well -- I am up to date on the eps but that's only because I made a concerted effort to do so. I don't know if that's entirely down to Moffat (as I adored Eleven's run) but I just haven't really been able to connect with the show since Capaldi took over. Maybe a show runner change will help with that?

When I read the news about Gaider leaving though I actually said "No!" out loud. I would love the man for creating Dorian alone but he's created so many other great characters and had such a wonderful interaction with the fans.

My only consolation there is that Patrick Weekes is still there and in charge now and I love his writing and fan interaction just as much.

The fact that Patrick Weekes is staying was the only thing keeping me going when I heard the news.
